Together, Milo and Meddy search for clues about a secretive thief and their motives, all while trying to figure out why everything seems to come back to the Greenglass House itself.

This story takes place in the Greenglass House, a smugglers inn located in Nagspeake; though the old house holds many secrets. Milo was just looking forward to a peaceful winter with his family, but it becomes obvious on the first night that that won’t be quite what happens.

The mystery was suspenseful, and it was exciting to discover clues alongside Milo and Meddy. The history of the world and the secrets held by the old house were well thought out and interesting, with mysterious gates, a famous smuggler, and someone who knows more than they let on.

People who enjoyed reading this book may also enjoy the other books in The Greenglass House series or Winterhouse, where readers are sure to find even more secrets and mysteries.
