The theme of this book is to not let yourself be swayed by how others think of you.
This book takes place in the magical town called Elfhelm, home of the elves and Father Christmas. The main character is a human girl named Amelia, who feels out of place beside the elves and her adopted parents, Father Christmas and Mary Christmas. Unlike them, she isn’t drimwicked; instead, she’s fully human, which has some negative repercussions among elves.
I enjoyed the third book in this series, and found it interesting to see how the elves would react to another human, considering their past interactions. The story incorporates humor and action, revealing more about the history of Elfhelm and the surrounding areas.
I found myself getting attached to the main character. I had a lot of sympathy for her, as she constantly felt out of place in Elfhelm and the human cities. I found it interesting that this book also included the Easter holiday, instead of focusing on Christmas like the other two did.
People who enjoyed reading this book may also enjoy the first two books in this series, A Boy Called Christmas and The Girl Who Saved Christmas.
